Where the buyer agreed to publish the price, Strathpine purchases ranged from $735,500 to $920,000 (5 of 5 published). The rest settled privately at the buyer's request.

Every Strathpine purchase on this page was secured by Jacob Butler.

Where Strathpine sits

Strathpine is the old centre of the Pine Rivers district, 19 kilometres north of the CBD and the first suburb past the council line. This is the City of Moreton Bay, not Brisbane City Council, which changes the flood tool, the planning scheme, the bin day and the rates notice. Gympie Road and the railway run north to south through the middle of it, the South Pine River wraps the south and east, and Four Mile Creek forms the line with Bray Park before crossing the top of the suburb on its way to the river. Bray Park sits to the west, Lawnton to the north, Brendale and its industrial estate to the south-west, and Bald Hills, in Brisbane, across the river to the east.

Boundaries
The South Pine River to the south and east, which is also the boundary with Brisbane City Council. Four Mile Creek to the north-west against Bray Park, then running east through the top of the suburb. The railway splits the suburb in two: Strathpine and Bray Park stations both sit inside it.
The roads
Gympie Road (the spine: the centre, the bus station, the hotel, the pool at Lawnton). Samsonvale Road (west to Strathpine West State School, Bray Park and Warner). Bells Pocket Road (north from Gympie Road to the state schools and Rob Akers Reserve). Strathpine Road and Linkfield Road (across the river to the Bruce Highway and the Gateway Motorway at Bald Hills)

The pockets

The suburb street by street: who each pocket suits and what to check there.

The numbers on the map above mark each pocket.

1The station and Dixon Street side

Station Street, Dixon Street, Mecklem Street, Hall Street, Jockers Street, Mott Street, Learmonth Street and Coulthards Avenue, between Strathpine station and Strathpine Centre

The original part of Strathpine, flat and walkable: the station, the library on Station Street, Pine Rivers Private Hospital and the back entrance to Strathpine Centre are all inside ten minutes. Post-war and 1960s timber and brick on the older streets, with the units and townhouses of the suburb clustered around the centre. The trade-off is Gympie Road on one side and the railway on the other, so stand in the yard at 7.30am before you decide.

Suits Families who want the train, the library, the cinema and the supermarkets on foot, and are buying the oldest houses in the suburb to do them up.

2The poets and the aircraft streets

Chaucer Parade, Keats Avenue, Tennyson Street, Wordsworth Street, Shakespeare Parade and Lord Byron Parade, and the wartime names beside them: Spitfire Avenue, Wirraway Street, Lancaster Street, Beaufort Street and Blenheim Street, around Strathpine State School and Pine Rivers State High

The 1970s heart of family Strathpine, on the ground where Camp Strathpine and its wartime airfield stood. Brick and timber highsets on 600 square metre blocks, most of them in the Strathpine State School and Pine Rivers State High catchments, with Douglas Park and Rob Akers Reserve for the weekend. Recent sales on Chaucer Parade and Keats Avenue landed either side of $880,000.

Suits Families who want both state schools within walking distance, a 600 square metre block and Bray Park station at the bottom of the hill.

3Strathpine West

Samsonvale Road, Garbala Drive, the composers (Beethoven Street, Brahms Street, Chopin Street, Schubert Street, Symphony Avenue, Vienna Way), the flowers (Banksia, Jasmine, Zinnia and Gerbera Streets) and Wairoa Drive and Xenia Court at the Brendale end

West of the railway the suburb turns into 1980s and 90s brick on 600 to 800 square metre blocks, cul-de-sacs backing onto parks, Alf Shaw Park on Stanley Street and Kensington Village for the Coles run. Wairoa Drive and Xenia Court sit at the Brendale end: parkland over the back fence on some streets, the industrial estate a little further on, so check which one you are getting.

Suits Buyers who want the bigger block and a quieter street, Strathpine West or Strathpine State School depending on the street, and Bray Park State High for the south-western streets.

4The Meadows and the river side

Meadows Boulevard, Laurel Drive, Kamala Crescent, Crows Ash Crescent, Grahams Road and McConnell Esplanade, east of Gympie Road toward the South Pine River

The newest streets in the suburb: 2010s estate houses on 400 to 450 square metre blocks with Rob Akers Reserve at the end of the road and the bus station a few minutes away. This is the low side of Strathpine, between Four Mile Creek and the river, so the council Flood Check property report is the first document to read, not the last.

Suits Families who want a newer house with an ensuite and a media room, and do not need a big yard.

Train

Two stations inside the suburb, both on the Redcliffe Peninsula line: Strathpine at the southern end and Bray Park at the northern end. Every Citytrain service from Kippa-Ring to Roma Street stops at both, and many run through to Springfield Central. A third track from Bald Hills to Lawnton opened in 2001. Selling agents quote about 30 minutes to the CBD; check the timetable for the address.

Bus

Strathpine bus station is attached to Strathpine Centre and was upgraded in 2023. Route 680 runs Redcliffe to Chermside through Strathpine, Bald Hills and Aspley about every 30 minutes. Route 327 runs Strathpine to Toombul via Bald Hills and Bracken Ridge, roughly hourly. Routes 670 to 674 are the local loops to Warner, Warner Lakes and Joyner from the centre and Bray Park station. For the city, the train is the answer.

Pinch points Gympie Road is the only road through the suburb and the South Pine River bridges are the only way south, so the peak backs up from the Bald Hills side from about 7am. Samsonvale Road slows at the school gates. Strathpine Centre's car park is full on a Saturday morning. Inspect a Gympie Road or railway-side house at 7.30am on a weekday before you decide the noise does not matter.

The houses

What is here
Post-war and 1960s timber and brick around the station, 1970s highsets on the poets' streets, 1980s and 90s brick to the west of the railway, and a pocket of 2010s estate houses in the Meadows on the north-east. About 3,700 houses and 450 units at the 2021 census; the units and townhouses sit around the centre and along Gympie Road.
Block sizes
600 to 800 square metres is normal in the 1970s to 90s streets: recent sales on Chaucer Parade, Keats Avenue, Wairoa Drive, Bygrave Street and Xenia Court were 607, 612, 612, 703 and 790 square metres. The Meadows blocks are smaller, around 425. That is the point of Strathpine over the newer estates further north: a family gets a yard and a shed.
Character overlays
Moreton Bay does not have Brisbane's traditional building character overlay. The planning scheme's heritage and landscape character overlay covers listed places, and the one in Strathpine is the former Pine Rivers Shire Hall at 238 Gympie Road, not the housing. Extensions, lifts and secondary dwellings are governed by the residential zone, the building height overlay and the flood hazard overlay rather than a character test. Check the lot on the council's mapping before you plan.
How it was built
  1. WartimeCamp Strathpine and its airfield occupy the ground where the poets' streets stand today.
  2. Post-war to 1960sTimber and brick go up on the flat streets around the station and Dixon Street.
  3. 1970sBrick and timber highsets fill the poets' and aircraft streets on 600 square metre blocks, the heart of family Strathpine.
  4. 1980s to 90sStrathpine West goes up in brick on 600 to 800 square metre blocks, cul-de-sacs backing onto parks.
  5. 2001A third rail track opens from Bald Hills to Lawnton through both of the suburb's stations.
  6. 2010sThe Meadows estate fills the low ground between Four Mile Creek and the river, on 400 to 450 square metre blocks.

What the money buys

Under $850,000

An original 1960s or 70s three-bedder on the station side, or a unit near the centre. Our lowest published Strathpine purchase is $735,500.

$850,000 to $1m

A tidy three-bedroom on 600 square metres in the poets' streets or Strathpine West, often with a pool or a shed. This is where most Strathpine sales sit, with the house median at $950,000, and where our published purchases top out at $920,000.

$1m and above

A four-bedroom, two-bathroom house on a full block, a renovated highset with dual living, or a newer house in the Meadows. Four-bedroom houses had a median just under $1m in the year to September 2026.

What to check before you buy in Strathpine

Flood

Two waterways, not one. The South Pine River wraps the south and east of the suburb and Four Mile Creek crosses the north on its way to it, and council ran a flood mitigation investigation on Four Mile Creek around Bray Park and Gympie Road in 2023. This is Moreton Bay, so Brisbane's FloodWise report does not cover it: order the council's free Flood Check property report for the exact lot, which shows river, creek, overland flow and storm tide exposure and the floor level against the flood levels, and look at the Moreton Bay Flood Viewer for the three flood sizes. Get the insurance quote before the building and pest, not after.

Noise

Gympie Road and the railway are the two noise lines through the middle of the suburb, and the Brendale industrial estate sits over the back fence of the south-western streets. Brisbane Airport's flight path tool will tell you whether the address sits under a runway mode; type it in, then stand in the yard at 7am and again at 9pm.

Overlays and approvals

The Moreton Bay planning scheme's interactive mapping shows the zone, building height, flood hazard, overland flow and every other overlay on the lot, and the council's DA Tracker shows what the neighbours have been approved to build. Not City Plan and not Development.i: those stop at the river.

Catchments

Four primary catchments and three secondary touch the suburb, two of them from across the river. Check the lot on EdMap, then ring the school.

Red flags

  • A low block between Four Mile Creek and the river with no Flood Check report and no floor-level survey. The report is free and takes minutes; a seller who has not pulled it is telling you something.
  • A highset that has been built in underneath without the council approvals on file. Ask for the building records through the council's property search before you fall for the rumpus room.
  • A Gympie Road, Samsonvale Road or railway-side frontage with single-glazed bedrooms at the front and no fence.

Where the value sits

  • An original 1970s highset on 600 square metres in the poets' streets, in both the Strathpine State School and Pine Rivers State High catchments, that has never been touched.
  • A brick house on a cul-de-sac in Strathpine West that backs onto a park rather than the industrial estate.
  • The station side, where the walk to the train, the library and the centre is real and the houses are the cheapest in the suburb.

Buying in Strathpine: the questions we get

Pine Rivers State High for most of the suburb, with Bray Park State High for the south-western streets. Primary splits four ways: Strathpine State School for the centre and north, Strathpine West for the western streets along Samsonvale Road, Bald Hills State School for the south-eastern corner by the river, and Bray Park State School touching the western edge. Check the exact address on EdMap and ask us which side of the line a house sits on.

Parts of it can. The South Pine River wraps the south and east and Four Mile Creek runs through the north, and the low streets near either carry flood hazard. Strathpine is in the City of Moreton Bay, so the check is the council's free Flood Check property report and Flood Viewer, not Brisbane's FloodWise. Every Strathpine purchase we make starts with that report and the floor levels.

The train. Strathpine and Bray Park stations are both inside the suburb on the Redcliffe Peninsula line, with every service running to Roma Street and most on to Springfield Central. By car it is 19 kilometres down Gympie Road or the Bruce Highway, about 30 minutes outside the peak. The 680 bus goes to Chermside and Redcliffe, not the city.

No. Strathpine is in the City of Moreton Bay; the council line is the South Pine River. That means the Moreton Bay planning scheme, the Moreton Bay Flood Check instead of FloodWise, Moreton Bay rates and bins, and the council's Pine Rivers district office in the suburb. Your solicitor's searches will go to a different council than they would for Bald Hills next door.

In 2026, a tidy three-bedroom house on around 600 square metres in the poets' streets or Strathpine West, often with a pool or a shed and usually 1970s to 90s. The house median was $950,000 in the year to September 2026. Our published Strathpine purchases run from $735,500 to $920,000.

Strathpine has both stations, the centre, the cinema, the hospital and the district high school inside its boundary, and the older, bigger blocks. Bray Park has Holy Spirit and Genesis, Les Hughes for junior sport, and a quieter, more uniform run of 1970s and 80s houses. Families who want to walk to the train usually end up in Strathpine; families who want the Catholic primary look at Bray Park first.
